Benefits
Why clients get their Form 13 through us
Open each benefit to see what it means for you.
Application the AO can approve
Form 13 is filed under Section 197 with your jurisdictional Assessing Officer. We prepare the application with the income estimates and TDS workings the AO actually looks for.
Stop excess TDS at source
If you are in a lower slab or your income is largely exempt, 10% TDS on every receipt is money locked away for a year. The certificate keeps it in your cash flow.
Valid for the full financial year
Lower-deduction certificates are issued for a financial year. We track validity and re-apply before the new year starts, so there is no gap.
One certificate, multiple deductors
One certificate can cover multiple sections and multiple deductors. We structure the application so you are not filing separately for every payer.

Process
Form 13 application process — step by step
You’ll see each stage, what’s pending and what we need from you — so filings don’t bounce back.
1. Assess whether you qualify
A lower or nil TDS certificate under section 197 suits taxpayers whose actual tax rate is below the TDS rate — exporters, contractors with thin margins and investors with exemptions. We check your projected liability first.
2. Build the income computation
We prepare a full-year income and tax computation showing why the standard TDS rate is excessive. The Assessing Officer decides on this computation, so it has to be airtight — typically within 2–3 working days.
3. File Form 13 online
The application is filed on the income-tax e-filing portal addressed to your jurisdictional Assessing Officer, with income estimates, past returns and payer details.
4. Respond to officer queries
The officer may ask for books, contracts or bank statements before deciding. We draft and file your replies so the application keeps moving.
5. Receive the Form 197 certificate
On satisfaction, the officer issues the lower or nil deduction certificate in Form 197, valid for the financial year or part of it. Processing typically takes a few weeks.
6. Share it with your payers
You give the certificate to each deductor named in it. They then deduct at the certified lower rate, and we track its expiry so you renew in time next year.
