Related Licences & Registrations

  • Shops & Establishments registration: needed for every centre, in each state of operation.
  • FSSAI licence: required if you sell nutritional supplements or health foods — supplements are a regulated category, not ordinary retail.
  • Fire NOC: commercial fitness centres in malls and high-rises need it before fit-out approval.
  • Music licence (PPL / IPRS / Novex): needed if you play music in centres — gyms receive notices for unlicensed music regularly.

ROC Filing Notes

  • Supplement trading is the clause MCA watches most. Keep it as manufacturing or trading of ‘nutritional supplements’ with no therapeutic claims.
  • If your academies certify trainers, mention certification explicitly — it is a distinct service line, not implied by ‘coaching’.
  • Tie event management to sports and fitness events. A generic ‘event management’ object in a fitness MOA looks copy-pasted and draws questions.
