GST, Without the Maze: Registration, Returns, Rates & Notices

GST touches almost every Indian business — the registration decision, the monthly filings, the invoice format, the notice you did not expect. This hub puts every guide we have published in the order you will actually need them.

Need a GSTIN? Start with the registration service.

Guides explain the rules. If you want the number itself, our GST registration service handles the application, the Aadhaar authentication and the officer queries, end to end.

New: registration in 3 working days under Rule 14A

Since 1 November 2025, a small taxpayer whose monthly output tax liability on supplies to registered persons stays within ₹2.5 lakh can opt for Rule 14A in Form GST REG-01: Aadhaar authentication, no physical verification, and the GSTIN is granted electronically within 3 working days. One registration per PAN per state, and leaving the scheme later takes a REG-32 withdrawal — so check first, then tick the box.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need GST registration for my business?

Most goods businesses register above ₹40 lakh turnover and most service providers above ₹20 lakh (₹10 lakh in special-category states) — but interstate supply, e-commerce and a few other cases make registration compulsory at any turnover. Check the thresholds and the exceptions.

What is Rule 14A registration?

An optional fast track from 1 November 2025: if your monthly output tax liability on supplies to registered persons stays within ₹2.5 lakh and you complete Aadhaar authentication, registration is granted electronically within 3 working days. Check your eligibility or read the full explainer.

Which GST returns will I file every month?

For most businesses: GSTR-1 (sales) and GSTR-3B (summary and payment), plus GSTR-9 and 9C once a year above the turnover lines. See the full filing calendar.
